Lenore Halls experience extends over several decades and includes the following tenures:
2003-2013- Worked on the Trauma Unit at Belmont Private hospital as mental health nurse. Involved group work and individual counselling sessions with patients affected by childhood physical/emotional/sexual abuse and neglect. Extensive training gained in understanding effects of trauma on individual development and well-being. Attended many trauma conferences with international experts in trauma. Attended 6 month training programme (weekly) in Group Facilitation.
~ 2014-2018- Counselling student placement in half-way house “Fishers of Men”. Working with males transitioning from prison into community. This involved drug and alcohol related issues / childhood trauma / relationship trauma / life transitions / PTSD.
~ 2014- Developed and implemented a 10 week group programme “Stepping Stones to Recovery”. This involved clients from a Psychology Practice “Gnadenfri” (in Petrie). The group was specific to clients who had experienced childhood physical/emotiona/sexual abuse and neglect, addressing ongoing trauma issues affecting their lives. The programme included: What is Trauma; Stage-related recovery; Safety and Grounding; Mindfulness; Impact of Trauma on Belief systems; Connecting with Emotions; Developing Relationships; Shame /Guilt / Grief and Loss in Relationship.
~ 2016-2018- Counselling student placement at “CityCare” counselling center connected to Hillsong church, Mt Gravatt. Counselling clients with Anxiety disorders, Depression, Life transitions, Grief and Loss, Cultural and identity issues with racially diverse clients.
~ 2019- Worked as Counsellor with “Footsteps Therapy”. Individual counselling sessions with clients on NDIS programme with ranging disabilities and many more abilities.
